Export clearance encompasses all the procedures and requirements regulated by customs law that are related to the process of exporting goods outside the European Union, for example, to Turkey, Ukraine, Serbia, or Norway.
What is required for export clearance?
The following documents and information are required for customs export clearance:
A document containing detailed information about the goods, including their description, quantity, value, and terms of sale – commercial invoice.
A detailed list of goods containing information such as weight, volume, quantity, and any serial numbers – packing list/specification.
An electronic customs declaration, containing detailed information about the goods and export conditions.
For certain goods, additional certificates may be required, such as quality, compliance, origin, phytosanitary or veterinary certificates, as well as export licenses.
A transport document that confirms the acceptance of goods for transport and contains information about the sender, recipient, carrier, and transport conditions – e.g., CMR in road transport.
If the customs clearance is conducted by a customs agent, a power of attorney authorizing them to act on behalf of the exporter is required.
What is subject to export customs clearance?
Every good leaving the territory of the European Union must undergo export customs clearance. Only in the case of parcels valued up to 22 EUR, sent by individuals, is there no requirement for export clearance.
