The legalization of documents—in this case, certificates of origin—refers to the official certification that the goods listed in a given document originate from the country indicated in that document. This certification is officially confirmed by authorized bodies, such as Customs and Fiscal Services (UCS) or a Chamber of Commerce. The application for the legalization of certificates of origin must be submitted in person at a customs office, accompanied by a complete set of attachments. A customs agency can perform this task on behalf of the client based on a power of attorney for representation before customs authorities. An exception is made for authorized exporters who have permission to issue certificates of origin in a simplified manner.
To obtain a certificate of origin, you need to follow several steps:
Verification process: After submitting the application, the institution will verify the documents. If everything is in order, you will receive the certificate of origin.
These procedures at customs offices can be carried out on behalf of the entrepreneur by a customs agency authorized by them.
