Transport to Azerbaijan is not just a single trip, but a whole sequence of stages – through several countries, with various procedures along the way. Many carriers treat this destination casually – as a supplement to their offer or as a dangerous and uneconomical crossing. We have been doing it differently since 2019 – and this experience is evident today in every stage of transport, from the first contact to delivery.
One department, one point of contact
An inquiry regarding Azerbaijan goes directly to the BULL team responsible for this direction. The client receives a designated person who knows the cargo parameters, the prepared offer, and all arrangements made. The same contact person on the 3CARGO side coordinates the flow of information between forwarding, the customs agency, and participants of the further route. Integrated transport and export clearance service
We can also include export clearance carried out by our own 3CARGO Customs Agency in Czechowice-Dziedzice or Piotrków Trybunalski as part of the transport order. We hold full AEO Full (AEOF) status, covering customs simplifications as well as safety and security. Thanks to this, transport and its Polish customs service can be prepared within a single organization. Import clearance in Georgia is organized by the consignee or a customs agency acting on their behalf. If required by the order, we can coordinate the flow of documents and information between the participants of the process.
Central coordination of subsequent transport stages
Transport to Azerbaijan consists of several stages carried out in the territory of consecutive countries. On the 3CARGO side, the BULL team coordinates the flow of arrangements and information between entities participating in the carriage. For the client, this remains a single order handled by one department. They do not have to independently search for a contact to each participant of the transport or piece together the information received from them.
Pricing based on operational verification
Before preparing an offer, the forwarder verifies the type of cargo, its dimensions, weight, packaging method, pickup and delivery locations, and the expected deadline. They also check whether the cargo is subject to ADR, SENT, or requires a non-standard means of transport or additional documentation.

BULL is 3CARGO’s regular export line designed for less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments to Bulgaria and the Caucasus countries – Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia, built for smaller batches of goods – you can send them without booking a full vehicle and develop your deliveries along with your actual demand.
You can start with a single pallet. Departures from Poland take place four times a week: on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The goods first go to our logistics partner in Bulgaria for consolidation, and from there – once a week – continue their journey by sea to Georgia, from where they travel by land to Azerbaijan. Not every order can be broken down into pallets. Sometimes it is one large batch, sometimes goods that require their own space in the trailer – and then the regular LTL line ceases to be the best solution. When the volume, deadline, or nature of the cargo goes beyond the standard LTL model, we offer full truckload (FTL) transport.
Full truckload (FTL)
We carry out FTL transport by land, via a route through Bulgaria and Turkey. It works well for larger volumes, goods requiring additional verification, or when you care about a single, dedicated transport without combining with other orders. The planned FTL transit time is 2-3 weeks.
As part of FTL, we offer, among others:
Sometimes the deadline leaves no room for weeks of waiting. An order that must arrive for the start of the season, a missing part for a production line, samples waiting for a client’s decision – in such situations, land transport, even the best organized, can be too slow. Then we turn to air transport, which shortens delivery time to single days.
However, this solution is not universal – not every cargo can fly by plane. Restrictions result from weight, dimensions, the nature of the cargo, and transport regulations, which is why qualification for air transport is checked individually for each inquiry.

Carriage alone does not always close the entire process. The goods may require warehousing, preparation for further shipment, or additional security for the long journey to the Caucasus. If a different company handles each stage, you are the one who has to keep track of deadlines and pass information between contractors.

Transport: You search for a carrier yourself and monitor the subsequent stages of the route

Transport: Cargo collection and organization of carriage between Poland and Azerbaijan – by land, air, or multimodally, depending on the situation on the route. A single point of contact throughout the entire carriage and a dedicated account manager for your transport.
Clearance: Customs clearance on the Polish side at our Customs Agency in Czechowice-Dziedzice or Piotrków Trybunalski with AEO Full status, taking care of every detail of the transport documentation.
Warehousing: The option of temporary storage of goods in our warehouse in Poland (MCS) and in Bulgaria (Sofia), when the recipient in Azerbaijan is not ready yet or the goods are waiting for the next stage.
Insurance: Upon request, you can extend the standard protection with additional cargo insurance for the entire duration of the journey, giving you peace of mind that you will receive appropriate compensation in the event of an accident.
VAS: We will repack, mark, label, sort, or pick the goods before shipment – they will arrive in Azerbaijan properly prepared.
Documentation: We check which documents are needed for the transport and point out any deficiencies before departure – you do not have to worry about a lost page in an invoice.
Transport between Poland and Azerbaijan involves customs clearance on both sides of the border. The scope of required documents depends on the type of goods, their value, origin, and the direction of transport – not every document applies to every order.
Export clearance
Goods leaving the European Union are subject to the export procedure. We can handle it through your chosen customs agency or our own customs agencies in Czechowice-Dziedzice and Piotrków Trybunalski with AEO Full status, which is a benchmark of our quality and reliability – choosing us means you do not have to worry about stressful oversights at the border and lost invoice pages.
Import clearance
After export from Azerbaijan, the export procedure is carried out on the Azerbaijani side. Upon arrival of the goods in Poland, a separate import clearance takes place, which we can also carry out in our customs agencies.
What documents will be needed in your case? This depends on whether the transport concerns export or import, what kind of goods are involved, and under what commercial terms the transaction takes place. Below we divide them into three groups – from those always needed to those dependent on the specific goods.
In 3CARGO we prepare an all-in quote for the agreed scope of transport. This means that already at the offer stage we show you the total implementation cost – the transport rate along with the current BAF fuel surcharge — instead of leaving you with just the base rate to which you have to independently add subsequent elements later.
If your order requires additional services going beyond the standard scope, such as additional cargo insurance, we agree on their scope with you and include them in the prepared offer. Thanks to this, you know from the beginning what scope of implementation you are paying for and what the pricing consists of.
CARGO PARAMETERS
The price is primarily influenced by weight, dimensions, number of units, and the space occupied in the vehicle.
TYPE OF TRANSPORT AND REALIZATION TIME
LTL is priced differently than full truckload FTL – in LTL you pay for the actually occupied part of the vehicle, thanks to consolidation with other shipments in Sofia. If you care about the shortest possible delivery time, an express variant is available – road (exclusively FTL) or air, depending on the quantity and category of the goods.
If the deadline is flexible, we have more options for organizing transport. If, on the other hand, delivery time is crucial for you, we look for a solution focused on the fastest possible realization.
NATURE OF THE CARGO
ADR and excise goods may require an appropriate vehicle, additional documentation, or extra organization. This affects both the method of realization and the price of transport.
DELIVERY OR COLLECTION ON YOUR OWN
If you have your own transport, you can independently deliver the goods to our warehouse in Czechowice-Dziedzice or Piotrków Trybunalski, instead of using door-to-door collection from any place in Poland. Similarly upon collection – you can collect the goods directly from our warehouse instead of ordering door-to-door delivery. In some orders, such a solution may lower the total cost of transport, especially if you already have your own domestic transport organization.
ADDITIONAL TRANSPORT REQUIREMENTS
Oversized loads or non-standard loading methods can change the organization of transport and its pricing. The more we know about the order already at the inquiry stage, the more accurately we can select a solution and prepare an offer.
ADDITIONAL CARGO INSURANCE
If you want to extend cargo protection beyond the carrier’s standard liability – especially on such a long route – we can propose additional cargo insurance. Its cost depends, among other things, on the value and type of goods and the selected scope of protection. Upon agreement with you, we include it in the prepared offer.
OTHER ALL-IN-ONE SERVICES IN THE RATE
If you use the All-in-One service, we also include customs clearance, storage in our MCS, and VAS services in the same all-in rate. You do not receive separate invoices from different suppliers – only one agreed quote for the entire scope.
AND WHAT ABOUT THE BAF FUEL SURCHARGE?
BAF is a variable fuel surcharge added to the transport rate. It is given as a percentage – and that is precisely why at first glance it is not always known how much it will actually amount to.
It is easiest to show this with an example:
Transport rate: 200 EUR
BAF: 12%
BAF surcharge: 24 EUR
Total transport cost: 224 EUR
So a BAF of 12% does not mean an additional 12 EUR. 12% is calculated from the transport rate – in this example from 200 EUR, which is why the surcharge amounts to 24 EUR.
You do not have to calculate BAF yourself. In the prepared offer we show the transport rate, the current BAF value, and their total amount, thanks to which you immediately see the transport cost within the agreed scope.
The BAF value changes along with the situation on the fuel market, which is why it may be different during subsequent transports.
The example is for illustrative purposes. 12% is not a fixed BAF value – we apply its current amount upon pricing.
PRICING INFORMATION 3CARGO does not use a single public pricing list for Poland–Azerbaijan transport. The price depends on the parameters of a specific order, which is why every offer is prepared individually.
This approach ensures the quote accounts for the actual transport model, cargo specifications, delivery timeline, and the specific services you actually require.
Transport takes 3-4 weeks in the LTL variant and 2-3 weeks in the FTL variant. The express road variant shortens this to 1-2 weeks. Air transport is priced individually – the time depends on available transport options and usually takes up to a week.
You can send a single pallet – this is the smallest unit we start with. We do not recommend a single carton: on such a long route, it ends up on a pallet during transshipment anyway, so it is better to send it in that form right away.
Transport takes more than shipments within the EU because the route leads through several countries outside the common customs area and requires additional clearances along the way – and in the sea variant, there is also the crossing of the Black Sea itself. The time we quote takes all these stages into account, not just the drive itself.
Transport can take place entirely by land as well as with the use of a sea leg on part of the route – we choose the path that allows the cargo to travel without unnecessary downtime at any given moment.
We deliver goods to the customs terminal in Baku – that is the last stretch of the route that remains on your side. Everything that happens earlier – transport across several countries, formalities, supervision of individual stages – is coordinated by us.
ADR transport is possible, excluding classes I and VII – Class II goods are carried without the possibility of storage in our warehouses. Refrigerated transport is not available on this route – we do not offer temperature-controlled or isothermal transport to Azerbaijan.
No, Azerbaijan is not subject to European Union trade-restricting sanctions (unlike, for example, Russia or Belarus). However, in accordance with EU regulations, goods covered by the order cannot be subsequently re-exported to Russia or Belarus, and this may require an additional declaration from the client in this regard. Apart from that, transport and trade with Azerbaijan take place on standard terms, without additional restrictions.
You must prepare primarily a commercial invoice and a packing list. Depending on the goods and the transaction, a document confirming the origin of the goods may additionally be required – the scope and form depend on the specific case, because Azerbaijan is not covered by the same preferential customs mechanism as, for example, Georgia.
